Sunderland didn’t have the best of the starts to the 2012/13 Premier League season but they have improved their performances significantly in the past few weeks and now find themselves four points clear of the relegation zone in the 15th spot.
They have won five of their eight league games and therefore, their confidence level ahead of this upcoming home clash with Swansea City is quite high.
However, the Black Cats’ record at the Stadium of Light this season isn’t anything to be proud of as they have managed just four wins out of a possible 11 on their own turf.
Right-back Phil Bardsley has recovered from his knee injury and could be recalled back into the starting line-up at the expense of David Vaughn.
Swansea have also been in impressive form of late and their League Cup semi-final triumph over Chelsea is an open proof that they have the ability to hang with the big boys.
Coach Michael Laudrup is likely to keep faith with his star centre-forward Michu, with Wayne Routledge and fit-again Nathan Dyen providing him support from the wings.
Swansea have been winless against Sunderland in their last four meetings and due to their overachievements on other fronts, a slight dip in form wouldn’t be surprising at this point. Hence, the play here is to back Sunderland with Betsson’s DrawNoBet option at odds of 1.69.
