The last three matches involving Liverpool have produced 13 goals, while Stoke City’s outings during the same time period have resulted in a grand total of just two goals. It shows that the Potters are currently on top of their defensive game and it is incredibly difficult for opposing teams to break down their sturdy backline.
Coach Tony Pulis’ men last conceded more than one goal in a match back in October against Manchester United at Old Trafford, and they have let in just 13 goals (league-best) in 18 matches this season. Such a conservative approach has also stifled their offensive production but the Potters have never cared for that setback and probably never will.
It is needless to say that they will adopt the same style of play against Liverpool next Tuesday at Britannia Stadium, and judging by their track record, it shouldn’t be surprising if they succeed to produce a dull, low-scoring affair once again.
Eight teams have tried and failed this season to get three points at Stoke City’s fortress and as impressive as Liverpool were in their recent 4-0 demolition of Fulham, it doesn’t seem that they have any special weapons to provide any real scare to the Potters’ defence.
Backing Stoke with Ladbrokes‘ DrawNoBet option at odds of 2.20 is the only logical play here.
