Real Madrid suffered a major shock last weekend when they were beaten 1-0 by relegation battlers Granada, courtesy of an extremely rare Cristiano Ronaldo own goal.
Coach Jose Mourinho’s men need to bounce back immediately from that humiliating loss but their task won’t be all that easy as they prepare to host Seville on Saturday.
The Andalucía-based outfit are certainly not as strong as thay used to be a few years ago but they still possess some players of decent quality in their squad and are certainly capable of springing yet another surprise on their flamboyant hosts.
However, a Real side that is playing at Santiago Bernabeu and has recently been stung is one of the most difficult beasts to tame in European football and that gives them a massive advantage in this fixture.
If Los Merengues can keep their internal problems to a minimum, then there is no reason why they won’t brush aside Seville. But their group is far from happy bunch and with reports of Mourinho’s summer departure in circulation, there is a chance for Unai Emery’s men to force Real into another dogfight. Backing Seville for an outright win, though tempting, is too big a risk to take. The cushion of +1.5 goals with Bet365 at odds of 1.83 is a much safer option.
