After the disappointment of losing the FA Cup final to Wigan Athletic, Manchester City will visit the Madejski Stadium this Tuesday night to face the relegated Reading FC.
Both the clubs are in mourning for their own reasons – the Citizens for finishing the season trophyless and the Royals for not being able to maintain their Premier League status.
City have won three, lost two and drawn one of thier last six games. In their last league outing, they won 1-0 at home against West Brom but the manner of that victory was hardly convincing. In fact, the Baggies had more shots at goal and shoud have at least left Etihad Stadium with a share of the spoils.
Reading defeated Fulham 4-2 last time out but that result came too late as their fate had already been sealed by then. That win, though impressive, followed a run of 11-games without a win, which makes it clear why this club is Championship-bound.
CIty’s Scott Sinclair is out for season, while defender Pablo Zabaleta is serving his red card suspension. Reading’s Jimmy Kebe and Jason Roberts are definitely out injured, but there is a slight chance that Hope Akpan and Adam Federici might be passed fit to play.
When Reading visited Etihad Stadium earlier this season, City won 1-0 via an injury-time winner by Gareth Barry. Coach Roberto Mancini’s job is under threat due to the FA Cup upset, and he would make sure this time that his men win and win comfortably against the Royals. Therefore, the play here is to back Manchester City -1 goal with Pinnacle Sports at a return of 1.81.
