Real Betis is battling to stay within the ranks of Spanish La Liga elites while Real Zaragoza is aiming to remain relevant this season as the two solid ball clubs engage in Friday’s royal rumble at Estadio La Romareda.
Fresh from a 2-1 beating at the hands of Mallorca, Real Betis will try to get back into their winning ways as they take on Real Zaragoza for their first outing of 2013.
At 9-1-7 (28 points), Betis still belongs to the Big 5 of Spanish Football just behind superpowers Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid, and Malaga.
However, Betis’ play has been inconsistent of late and it led to a draw with Las Palmas in their Copa del Rey showdown and two setbacks to Mallorca and Barcelona.
On Friday, Betis is expected to lean on their leading goal scorer Ruben Castro and playmaker Benat to take the charge.
Meanwhile, things are looking up for Zaragoza going into their next assignment after pulling off 2-0 win against Atletic Bilbao. Zaragoza leading goal scorers Apono and Heder Postiga starred in their last game and will likely take the lead into the Friday’s showdown.
Ladbrokes offered a Zaragoza victory at 2.38 while a Betis win at 2.90. A draw is set at 3.30.
