Sixteenth meets 17th in the Premier League as Newcastle United travel to the Midlands to take on Aston Villa at Villa Park on Tuesday evening.
The Villans recently suffered the possibly unprecedented humiliation of being dumped out twice from cup competitions in a span of four days at the hands of lower league minnows. First, Bradford City knocked them out in the League Cup semi-finals and then Millwall heaped more misery on them in the FA Cup last Friday.
There aren’t any new injury concerns for Villa boss Paul Lambert, although considering the poor performance of the bunch that lost to Millwall, he could chop and change things against Newcastle.
The Magpies, too, could have several new faces in their squad for this fixture, thanks to their recent spree of Ligue 1 acquisitions. The newcomer most likely to start is Moussa Sissoko, as Cheick Tiote is away on international duty with the Ivory Coast squad.
These two are two of the worst performing teams in the Premier League at the moment and both have lost four of their last six games. There isn’t much to choose between them but Alan Pardew’s men might have a slight edge here due to his team’s recent signings.
The play here is to back Newcastle United with NordicBet’s DrawNoBet option at a return of 1.80.
